UNDP Funding Windows

UNDP's Funding Windows are a multi-donor, flexible funding mechanism that provide a strategic opportunity for partners to contribute to achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. 

The four thematic Funding Windows are:

  • Poverty and Inequality
  • Governance, Peacebuilding, Crisis and Resilience (Sub-Windows: Democratic Governance, Conflict Prevention and Sustaining Peace, Resilience and Disaster Risk Reduction, Crisis Response)
  • Nature, Climate and Energy
  • Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment

Funding Windows 2023 Annual Report

The Funding Windows are UNDP’s primary mechanism for flexible thematic non-core funding, an important complement to core contributions. In 2023, 119 countries and territories used Funding Windows resources. This included investing 35% of resources in fragile contexts and 30% in Least Developed Countries (LDCs), alongside leveraging digitalization and innovative solutions to amplify impact in over 30 countries and working hand-in-hand with 22 UN organizations.
